Hongwanji Mission School
Parent-Teacher Organization

The Hongwanji Mission School Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) is an affiliated organization of the Honpa Hongwanji Hawaii Betsuin, as is the Hongwanji Mission School (HMS) itself. The PTO's primary purpose is to support the educational efforts at the Hongwanji Mission School.

We collect yearly membership dues (all families attending HMS school are automatically members) and conduct annual fundraising activities which allows the PTO to provide this support to HMS.

Of utmost importance is working with Families, the School Faculty and Administration, and the Betsuin to provide a Safe, Stimulating, and Educational environment for the children.

PTO Projects

PTO has been responsible for providing a number of very important improvements to the HMS campus. Over the years, the PTO has provided computers in the classrooms, playground equipment for our preschool children, and the installation of air conditioning in the elementary grade classrooms.
